Stelia Joins LINX in London and Manchester

The London Internet Exchange (LINX) are pleased to welcome Stelia, powered by ICONIC Networks, as a member and reseller partner of their interconnection hubs in London and Manchester.

Stelia are a new network, launched in 2021 and based out of London. They are present and live in 14 data centre locations across the UK including Slough, Manchester, and Birmingham.

End customers of Stelia will be able to access the 800+ networks peering at LINX in London including unique ASNs only present at this location. They will also be able to access interconnection services at LINX’s Manchester hub.

LINX Manchester was the first Internet Exchange Point (IXP) to be launched by LINX outside of London and it has grown significantly in the last two years. From traffic peaks of 174Gbps in November of 2020 to now regularly surpassing 300Gbps with 150+ national and international networks connected.

Interest in reaching the LINX hubs has been building since Stelia launched, and becoming an official LINX ConneXions Reseller Partner was high on the agenda from the start.

Tobias Hooton, Founder & CEO of Stelia and ICONIC says;

“Not only do we believe LINX services are of advantage of providers in outer London regions, we’re seeing active requirements for this. This is partly due to our drive with regional Alt Nets and our presence in connecting these businesses together. The ability to connect an edge business in Liverpool directly to the heart of the UK’s internet ecosystem at LINX, and immediately on to application and platform providers, really is a critical enabler for agile internet services.”

Jennifer Holmes, CCO for LINX says;

“We are thrilled to have Stelia on board as our latest resellers. We’re looking forward to working with them to offer LINX interconnection services to further areas of the UK, expanding our coverage in metro areas outside of London.”

Stelia are working closely with Proximity Data Centres, who provide colocation services from their edge facilities across the UK from Leeds to Liverpool and Birmingham to Bristol.

Mr Hooton continues;

“We have plans to expand our multi-tb platform to all Proximity sites, and we’re focussed on the internet edge. Our whole business is set up to support and grow emerging technology providers and innovate internet businesses in a Web 3 world.”

Stelia are actively looking to expand further across Europe and the US and are in discussions with multiple edge providers. Look out for further updates on this partnership with LINX soon.
