The London Internet Exchange (LINX) has launched its 2023 annual report and accounts ahead of the LINX122 member meeting in London.
LINX122 takes place on Tuesday 28th and Wednesday 29th May, and will feature the exchange’s annual general meeting and an election for two places on its non-executive Board.
2023 Overview
The comprehensive report states that the organisation performed well in what continue to be challenging market conditions for the industry as a whole.
LINX’s network reach is extensive within its services sector, and that it remains a very significant player in the IXP industry. In 2023 it continued to attract new worldwide members based in Europe, as well as the Middle East, Asia, Africa, the Americas, and Australasia.
While the interconnection market remains very competitive, the exchange still received 71 new member applications received during the year. At the end of 2023, membership totalled 875, spread across 81 countries.
“The balancing of retaining a strong financial position, alongside a policy of holding our prices despite inflationary pressures, is becoming an increasing challenge and LINX directors pay close and regular attention to ongoing financial results. This approach is supported by the continuing increase in demand for our services, and our expanding membership who endorse this as an appropriate policy.”
Kurt-Erik Lindqvist, LINX CEO
