Global telecommunications carrier, CMC Networks, the latest addition to the LINX ConneXions Reseller Programme, invest in a 10G port at LINX in London.
CMC Networks, the largest Pan African carrier network servicing Africa and the Middle East, joined the London Internet Exchange (LINX) as a member ten years ago. They have experienced the benefits of peering first-hand as a network and are now looking to offer remote peering as a service for their customers.
The ability to offer a remote peering product has been high on CMC Networks’ agenda in 2020, largely due to the continued increase in capacity demands and traffic over the past few months. This has been a contributing factor in driving this strategic decision forward and becoming an official LINX ConneXions Reseller Partner.
CMC are now in the position to bring networks anywhere in their global network, predominantly Africa and the Middle East, to LINX in London allowing peering with other key networks. In doing this, CMC’s customers will have access to unique networks with less ‘hops’, improving both latency and the end user experience.
Nico Walters, Global and Innovations Manager for CMC Networks is looking forward to the partnership;
“We are extremely excited about this partnership and the new opportunities it will bring to our customers. The value that peering brings to modern networks cannot be over-stated enough and we believe that our customers will greatly benefit from connecting with the networks available at LINX…”
“…Our partnership with LINX will support our mission of building stronger networks that are more efficient and that bring our customers closer to the content that they require.”
LINX look forward to welcoming CMC to their ConneXions partner programme and working together to make it easier for global networks to reach their key interconnection locations.
