NBIP and LINX: Built on Community and Growth

Nationale Beheersorganisatie Internet Providers (NBIP), are a not-for-profit organisation based in the Netherlands. NBIP operate in the world of internet security, and at the core of what they do is their flagship service, NaWas. NaWas is a DDoS scrubbing service that providers of digital infrastructure and services such as internet service providers (ISP’s), hosting and cloud providers and other such services to protect themselves from the threat of Distributed Denial of Service (DDoS) attacks.

If you’re not familiar with DDoS attacks, they’re essentially designed to flood a network with so much traffic that it can’t function properly. For many service providers, fending off these attacks can be both daunting and costly. That’s where NBIP steps in, offering affordable and effective DDoS protection by bringing the power of the community together: strength through unity. NBIP’s approach is all about sharing resources, expertise, and facilities to ensure that digital infrastructure providers of many sorts and sizes can withstand these threats.

How Joining LINX Has Helped NBIP NaWas Thrive

So, why did NBIP choose to join the ever growing LINX community? The answer lies in LINX’s extensive network and its community-based ethos, which aligns perfectly with NBIP’s own values. For NBIP, joining LINX wasn’t just about plugging into a network—it was about becoming part of a larger community that shares its commitment to mutual growth, protection and for the good of the internet, joining LINX in London opting for our Closed User Group product in order to deliver their DDoS solution to a UK market.

LINX has provided NBIP with the infrastructure and support needed to extend NaWas’ reach into the UK market. One of the standout aspects of this partnership has been the ease with which NBIP could integrate its services within the LINX framework. Whilst onboarding, the technical teams at LINX were there every step of the way, ensuring everything went smoothly.

Since joining LINX, NBIP has been able to significantly expand its membership base in the UK. LINX’s extensive network of ISPs has been instrumental in this growth, helping NaWas to reach more providers who need robust, affordable DDoS protection. But it’s not just about numbers—through LINX, NBIP has been able to engage more deeply with the community, participating in events and initiatives that bring ISPs together. This sense of community has been invaluable, allowing NBIP to further its mission of providing top-tier DDoS protection to those who need it most.

Tackling Challenges Together

Before teaming up with LINX, NBIP faced the challenge of scaling its services to effectively serve the UK market. This wasn’t a simple task—delivering DDoS protection requires a robust infrastructure and a deep understanding of local networks. LINX has been crucial in overcoming these challenges, providing the necessary support and technical setup that allows NaWas to operate efficiently and effectively within the UK.

“We have an ambitious goal to protect UK and European boards against DDoS attacks, and LINX will play an instrumental role in making that a reality.
Frank Dupker, European Network Manager for NaWas at NBIP

Thanks to LINX, NBIP has not only been able to grow its membership but has also seen improvements in network reliability and performance. The partnership has strengthened NaWas’ position in the UK, ensuring that its members receive the protection they need while also being part of a supportive, collaborative community.

Looking Ahead: A Bright Future for NBIP and LINX

As NBIP looks to the future, the relationship with LINX is set to become even more integral. NBIP is eager to continue building on the strong foundations laid by this partnership, particularly in areas like knowledge sharing and expanding connections across Europe and beyond. The vision is clear—by working together, NBIP and LINX can help even more providers of digital infrastructure such as ISP’s to access the protection and support they need in an increasingly connected world.
